Uzbekistan has secured over $6 billion in private investment commitments to develop artificial intelligence infrastructure. The government plans to deploy 800 megawatts of new computing capacity to address the current 90% utilization rate of existing facilities. The first wave of new capacity is scheduled to go online in November 2026, with further projects expected by the end of that year.
A key project is the TAS-1 data center in Tashkent’s IT Park, developed by DataVolt. The facility has received $150 million in financing from a consortium including the EBRD and the OPEC Fund for International Development. With an initial capacity of 12 MW and liquid cooling, the center aims to support AI workloads, with Beeline Uzbekistan identified as a potential anchor tenant.
The national strategy, Digital Uzbekistan 2030, targets a domestic AI market value of $1.5 billion by 2030. As part of this effort, Uztelecom has launched GPU-equipped data centers in Bukhara and Kokand under the UzCloud platform. The number of AI exporters in the country's IT Park has increased from 24 in 2024 to 160, with exports now reaching 80 countries.
