Renaissance Capital projects a busy autumn for US IPOs, driven by strong investor demand and a large number of high-profile companies preparing to go public. The firm's Fall 2026 US IPO Preview, published on September 8, highlights a pipeline filled with anticipated names from the artificial intelligence sector.

Year-to-date US IPO proceeds have hit a record $146 billion. A significant portion of this total comes from SpaceX's June listing, which raised approximately $75 billion, becoming the largest IPO in history. Excluding SpaceX, the rest of the market has raised $71 billion.

The AI sector is the primary focus for the upcoming fall calendar. Anthropic, the developer of the Claude model family, is identified as a key candidate for a potential fall listing. OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, is also being monitored as a possible candidate, although its timing is less certain.

The IPO pipeline also includes companies from the fintech, defense, and consumer sectors. Institutional buyers are particularly attracted to AI candidates due to thetailwind created by infrastructure spending on AI technology.

The Renaissance IPO Index, which tracks recently listed companies, has risen 15.0% year-to-date, outperforming the S&P 500.
