Jay Clayton, the newly appointed AI czar and Director of National Intelligence, has initiated a series of meetings with prominent Silicon Valley executives. This marks his first official engagement with industry leaders since taking charge of a new team tasked with coordinating federal AI affairs.

Clayton is scheduled to meet with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. These discussions follow a recent White House luncheon where AI developers signed a voluntary safety agreement with the administration.

The new AI team, referred to as the Super Intelligence Force, reports directly to Donald Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. Clayton emphasized that companies must integrate control and monitoring mechanisms into their models to ensure public safety.

During his visit, Clayton also met with Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora to discuss AI security. Clayton stated that the government intends to utilize existing liability laws to hold the industry accountable, noting that companies must comply with regulations to operate.
