Unitree Robotics founder Wang Xingxing addressed the Global Digital Trade Expo in Hangzhou on September 24. During his speech, he discussed the evolution of embodied intelligence and the industry's path toward mass adoption.
Wang identified a critical technical bottleneck: the precision gap between AI model inputs and physical reality. He stated that robots currently face a margin of error of several millimeters, which hinders their ability to perform tasks reliably.
The founder noted that the industry will reach a tipping point when robots can execute 80 percent of tasks in 80 percent of unfamiliar environments using voice commands. He expects this milestone to arrive within the next few years.
Regarding current limitations, Wang explained that humanoid robots still require retraining for new tasks, resulting in lower efficiency compared to human labor. Consequently, the company is focusing on improving technical generalization and precision before scaling deployment.
