Turo is integrating with Tesla to highlight vehicles equipped with Full Self-Driving (Supervised) on its rental marketplace. The platform will use Tesla’s API to verify which cars have the software enabled, allowing owners to label their listings as self-driving.
Eligible Turo hosts who rent out their vehicles will receive a free one-month trial of the FSD software. Renters will be provided with tutorials and safety warnings, emphasizing that the system requires active human supervision at all times.
Tesla reports that approximately 1.7 million customers globally have paid for FSD to date. In North America, over 75% of customers who took delivery of a vehicle in the third quarter opted for an FSD subscription, marking a 20% increase from the previous quarter.
Tesla executives noted that demand for FSD is driving vehicle interest, with customers specifically requesting test drives of the software rather than focusing on specific models. Model 3 and Model Y currently rank as the third and fourth most popular vehicles on Turo.
