TSMC is reportedly considering the construction of a second manufacturing campus in the United States, with Texas identified as the primary location. According to industry sources, the project could involve the development of six advanced semiconductor fabrication plants, potentially situated near Dallas.

The total investment for the Texas expansion may surpass the $265 billion currently allocated to the company's Arizona project. This estimate accounts for the use of more advanced manufacturing nodes in the new facilities. However, TSMC has not yet finalized these plans, and the company's board has not officially approved the initiative.

The potential expansion is driven by demand from major clients, including NVIDIA, Intel, AMD, and Apple, who are seeking domestic chip production. Additionally, the move follows discussions regarding potential tariffs of up to 200 percent on manufacturers that do not produce chips within the United States.

Despite the reported interest, TSMC has not requested preparations from its suppliers. The company continues to manage its existing Arizona site, which recently received an additional $100 billion investment in July. That location currently faces ongoing challenges related to power, labor, and water supply.
