TrustPoint has signed a contract with EnduroSat US to manufacture and integrate 40 satellites for a new navigation system. The deployment will occur in three consecutive batches, allowing the company to refine the design of subsequent units based on the performance of the initial ones.
The system utilizes EnduroSat's mass-produced satellite platforms equipped with TrustPoint's proprietary navigation payload. Unlike traditional GNSS that operate in the L-band from medium Earth orbits, these satellites will orbit at low Earth altitudes and transmit signals in the C-band.
The developer states that this architecture provides a stronger signal, improved resistance to electronic interference, and better performance in multipath propagation environments. The system is designed to provide a reliable backup for positioning and timing data.
Prior to this agreement, TrustPoint successfully conducted orbital experiments with three demonstration satellites. These tests confirmed the transmission of C-band navigation signals and data relay capabilities. Joint trials with Hexagon also validated the system's resilience against active jamming.
