Former US President Donald Trump announced plans to establish an artificial intelligence task force. To oversee this initiative, he intends to appoint a dedicated official responsible for AI affairs in the near future.
Trump stated that AI represents the next industrial revolution or internet wave. He projected that the industry could eventually account for 25 percent of the United States gross domestic product, emphasizing the need for government support.
The former president criticized Democratic efforts to regulate the sector, pledging that his administration would not hinder or suppress AI development. He intends to foster the industry while utilizing the existing legal system to punish illegal acts.
Previously, during an industry summit, Trump spoke with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. He dismissed concerns regarding AI safety as a hoax, asserting that robots would not take over the world and that the technology would not dominate humanity.
