The newly formed Super Intelligence Force (SIF) is holding its first official meeting this Thursday to establish its operational agenda. The administration announced the leadership team on October 4, 2026, tasking them with defining the group's goals and responsibilities.

The leadership includes Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton, FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering Emil Michael, and Director of the Office of Personnel Management Scott Kupor. At least five members of the SIF have professional backgrounds in AI and tech investments.

The task force is required to submit a comprehensive report on AI risks and opportunities within 120 days. Its primary mandate is to coordinate government efforts with stakeholders, such as public interest groups and critical infrastructure providers, while avoiding heavy regulation.

The administration has officially replaced the term 'artificial intelligence' with 'super intelligence' in its communications. This follows the September 29, 2026, signing of the White House Accord on Super Intelligence by the administration and executives from six major firms, including Google and OpenAI.
