Three companies have officially notified the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission of their intent to launch platforms for trading tokenized stocks. The regulator confirmed that Tokenized Stock Venue, Perpetuals.com, and OKX have submitted the necessary plans to operate under new guidelines.
The initiative follows a September announcement from the SEC, which introduced a five-year exemption for platforms facilitating the trade of tokenized securities. Among the applicants, OKX is collaborating with the Intercontinental Exchange to develop a new trading venue known as OKXICE.
While these firms have submitted their proposals, the SEC clarified that inclusion on the list does not guarantee compliance with all regulatory requirements. The current administration aims to modernize oversight for blockchain-based assets, contrasting with previous enforcement-heavy approaches.
