Uber reported that third-party AI agents facilitated only four ride bookings during the third quarter of 2026. This disclosure marks the first time the company has shared data on AI-driven activity on its platform.
The volume of Uber Eats orders processed by AI agents reached approximately 500 during the week of Halloween. These figures represent a tiny fraction of the 320 million total rides and food deliveries recorded by the company.
CEO Dara Khosrowshahi stated that the company remains open to collaborating with third-party AI developers while maintaining that the native Uber app provides the most efficient user experience.
Uber is currently developing its own internal AI tools to retain user engagement. Earlier this year, the company introduced a Cart Assistant for Uber Eats that generates grocery lists from images or text prompts.
