The latest Tesla FSD v14.3.9 software update has introduced a bug causing false alerts regarding camera visibility. Users report receiving notifications to clean the forward-facing camera even when the windshield and lenses are clean. The issue emerged following the rollout of the update earlier this month, which included a new automatic collision avoidance feature.

The problem stems from an overly sensitive visual encoder in the new version. The neural network's detection threshold for camera visibility was set too high, causing it to misinterpret sunlight glare and standard optical conditions as dirt on the lens. This triggers a persistent warning on the vehicle's internal display instructing drivers to clean the inside of the windshield.

Tesla's service teams have acknowledged the software defect and are actively managing the situation. The company is canceling service appointments for customers affected by the false alerts, informing them that a visit is unnecessary. Tesla has advised owners who already paid for cleaning services to contact support for potential refunds or credit compensation once a standardized policy is finalized.
