Temporal Technologies Inc. has successfully closed a Series E funding round, securing $550 million. This investment brings the company's total valuation to $12.55 billion. The round was co-led by Lightspeed and Wellington Management, with participation from Goldman Sachs, Tiger Global, T. Rowe Price, and SV Angel.
The company provides an open-source platform designed to automate software reliability by managing task workflows and handling application failures. Its technology tracks task progress through logs, allowing programs to resume operations automatically after interruptions. Developers can configure retry parameters and utilize standby programs to ensure workflow continuity.
Temporal operates using a system of Workers that manage tasks via queues. Users can configure these queues to route specific tasks to designated Workers, optimizing data exchange and performance. The company also offers a managed cloud service, Temporal Cloud, which automates infrastructure coordination for its clients.
The firm reported that its annualized revenue recently exceeded $250 million, marking a threefold increase over the past year. Its customer base has grown by 139%, with over 4,300 paying users, including major organizations such as Nvidia Corp. and OpenAI Group PBC. The platform is increasingly used to improve the reliability of artificial intelligence workloads.
Temporal plans to allocate the newly raised capital toward product development, infrastructure expansion, and accelerating its market presence.
