The Layer 1 blockchain Tempo, supported by Stripe and Paradigm, has integrated the Open USD (OUSD) stablecoin. The asset, developed by OpenStandard and backed by the Stripe subsidiary Bridge, launched on the network on September 30, 2026, with over $400 million in liquidity.

OUSD reserves are managed by BlackRock, Lead Bank, and BNY. The framework features no minting or redemption fees and imposes no volume limits on transactions. Partners retain the majority of reserve earnings, with only a nominal management fee deducted from the total.

The collaborative framework for OUSD currently includes between 140 and 200 businesses, reportedly featuring major entities such as Visa, Mastercard, and Coinbase. The stablecoin is also available on other networks, including Base, Ethereum, and Solana.

Tempo mainnet launched on March 18, 2026, specifically targeting stablecoin payments and treasury operations. The network maintains average transaction costs below $0.001, allowing a firm to process one million transactions for less than $1,000 in fees.

The blockchain includes a native decentralized exchange for stablecoin swaps and a Fee Automated Market Maker to manage operational liquidity. The concentration of $400 million in liquidity on Tempo indicates significant institutional interest in the platform.
