This change reflects the platform's evolution from a basic bot for buying Toncoin and Bitcoin into a comprehensive service offering trading, investment tools, multi-chain assets, tokenized stocks, and gold for millions of users.
Alongside the rebrand, Telegram is introducing the Gram wallet, which will serve as a simplified entry point for everyday tasks. Users can utilize this wallet to hold Gram, send gifts, purchase Stars, transfer funds, and interact with various Telegram applications and services.
Walt will focus on advanced financial functionality, including cross-chain transfers and access to 300 assets. It will provide the necessary infrastructure to fund Gram wallets. The rebrand involves updates to the name, logo, and social handles, but users do not need to migrate accounts.
The company plans to expand its product lineup with crypto cards for real-world spending. Additionally, Walt is developing AI-powered trading features that use conversational interfaces to help users analyze markets, assess portfolio risks, discover opportunities, and execute perpetual futures trades.
