Italian venture capital firm Techshop has launched its second fund, Techshop II, securing €43 million in the first close. The firm aims to reach a total of €150 million in assets under management. CDP Venture Capital participated as a reference investor through its FoF VenturItaly II and Digital Transition Fund vehicles.
The new fund focuses on early-stage B2B software startups, specifically those applying artificial intelligence to automate business processes. Techshop plans to invest at least 70% of the capital in companies based in the European Union or the European Economic Area that maintain a permanent establishment in Italy.
Techshop was founded in 2021 and previously managed Techshop I, which invested in 23 companies including Shop Circle, Smartness, and Qomodo. The firm reports that its first fund achieved a 1.8 MOIC and a 1.5 TVPI. The first investments from the new fund are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The launch of Techshop II follows a trend of European venture capital firms raising capital for AI and B2B software in 2026. Other recent fund closes include Merantix Capital with €103 million, Elaia with €120 million, and DFF Ventures with €70 million, alongside Vanagon Ventures which closed €20 million for pre-seed AI.
