The Joint Commitment On Frontier Responsibilities, a self-regulation agreement for AI development, was signed by President Donald Trump and leaders of major technology firms. The signatories include Sundar Pichai of Google, Dario Amodei of Anthropic, Mark Zuckerberg of Meta, Greg Brockman of OpenAI, Elon Musk of xAI, and Jensen Huang of Nvidia.

The document mandates four primary safety procedures. Companies must implement internal controls for monitoring model alignment and capabilities, specifically regarding cybersecurity and biosecurity. Furthermore, firms are required to establish internal teams to oversee these controls and partner with independent external auditors to verify system performance.

The agreement also requires the appointment of an independent board committee to receive audit reports and ensure the remediation of identified issues. The text suggests that these voluntary measures could eventually be codified into formal laws or regulations. Currently, the deal does not specify penalties for non-compliance.

Alongside the safety pact, President Trump issued an order for the US government to refer to artificial intelligence as Super Intelligence. The administration claims this terminology is more appropriate for the technology. The agreement was published online by presidential advisor David Sacks.
