President Donald Trump hosted a meeting with major tech executives to discuss artificial intelligence, which he now refers to as Super Intelligence. Instead of implementing federal regulations, the administration is relying on a self-policing model where industry leaders oversee each other's development processes.
Six executives signed the Joint Commitment On Frontier Responsibilities, described as a morally binding safety pledge. The signatories include Sundar Pichai of Google, Dario Amodei of Anthropic, Mark Zuckerberg of Meta, Greg Brockman of OpenAI, Elon Musk of XAI, and Jensen Huang of Nvidia.
The participating leaders publicly supported the initiative, framing it as a collaborative effort to ensure safety while advancing technological innovation. Jensen Huang noted the industry is currently undergoing a massive infrastructure buildout that he expects will create one million jobs in the United States.
During the event, executives emphasized the potential economic and societal benefits of the technology, such as medical advancements and GDP growth. While acknowledging the risks, they maintained that the industry is capable of developing new safety technologies alongside advancements in AI capabilities.
