On November 5, 2026, the Invesco QQQ Trust recorded a trading volume of approximately $80 billion. This figure represents the highest daily trading volume in the 27-year history of the Nasdaq-100 tracker.
The Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X Shares (SOXL) also reached a record trading volume of roughly $25 billion during the same session. This fund provides triple daily exposure to a semiconductor index.
The surge in trading activity occurred during a significant decline in the technology sector. At its lowest point during the session, the Nasdaq-100 index experienced a drop of up to 5.9%.
Increased trading volumes were also observed in the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) and the VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH). Market analysts interpret these record volumes as a signal of institutional repositioning.
