TD Bank has partnered with Akoya to implement the Open Finance Solution. This platform provides API infrastructure and operational support to facilitate connections between the bank, financial technology companies, and data aggregators.

The integration process for applications and data aggregators is scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter. This collaboration aims to eliminate the need for TD Bank clients to share their banking credentials directly with third-party service providers.

The new system allows users to manage their financial data access by viewing which applications have permission to retrieve information and revoking that access at any time. For third-party providers, the platform offers a standardized and more secure method for connecting with the bank.

Jo Jagadish, head of U.S. digital banking at TD, stated that the partnership balances data protection with user flexibility. Akoya CEO Paul LaRusso noted that this model provides clients with greater control over their personal financial information.
