Tantor Labs, a subsidiary of Astra Group, has released version 7.1 of its Tantor platform, designed for centralized administration and monitoring of PostgreSQL-compatible databases. The update introduces an AI-driven self-healing feature that automatically resolves common database issues identified during monitoring.
The self-healing mechanism analyzes diagnostic data to propose and execute fixes based on administrator-defined rules. Users can set specific permissions for automated actions at the instance, space, or tenant level. The system evaluates risk levels before execution and performs automatic rollbacks if performance metrics decline after a fix.
Version 7.1 expands diagnostic capabilities by allowing users to create custom scenarios for primary and secondary analysis. The health assessment system now supports configurable thresholds and penalty points for performance metrics, including cache hit ratios and slow query counts, with evaluation available at the individual database level.
The platform includes a new maintenance section for automating routine tasks such as availability checks, statistics collection, and data cleanup. Additionally, the update adds integration with the Max messenger for alert notifications and introduces support for the Tantor Persey database management system.
The AI monitoring and self-healing functionality is currently provided at no additional cost to existing Tantor platform clients. The company, which launched its first platform of this type in 2021, continues to focus on automating routine database administration tasks to improve operational efficiency.
