Tab, a new personal AI assistant, has officially emerged from stealth mode. The company is currently valued at $300 million. While specific funding details remain undisclosed, the startup has secured backing from investors including SV Angel, Valar Ventures, and American Spirit.
Founded earlier this year by Brennan Erbz, Stafford Schlitt, and Ammar Amdani, the service operates via iMessage and WhatsApp. Users can delegate daily tasks, such as grocery shopping or travel bookings, directly to the assistant. The platform is designed to handle calls, payments, and scheduling independently.
The company emphasizes user privacy as a core feature of its product. According to Amdani, the system does not use personal data for AI training, and payment information is stored in a secure vault. The service requires explicit user confirmation before executing any irreversible actions.
Tab is currently expanding through word-of-mouth growth and is preparing to launch a new product in the near future. The founders view the current market as a competitive race to build more capable consumer AI assistants, noting that establishing user trust is a primary objective.
