Superhuman has acquired Fathom, a Y Combinator-backed startup specializing in AI-powered meeting note-taking. This move aims to integrate meeting context directly into Superhuman’s existing suite of productivity tools, which includes email, calendar, and document applications.
Founded in 2020, Fathom has raised over $30 million in funding. According to PitchBook, the company reached a valuation of $94 million in 2024. Its investor list features firms like Zoom Apps Fund and Telescope Partners, alongside individual backers such as Reddit CEO Steve Huffman.
Fathom currently reports over 400,000 monthly active users, with more than 1 million individuals having used the service to record meetings. The acquisition follows internal testing by Superhuman, where the company concluded that developing a high-quality note-taker from scratch was significantly complex.
Superhuman plans to leverage Fathom’s technology to enable its AI agents to extract insights from meetings, draft emails, and schedule follow-ups automatically. Fathom CEO Richard White noted that the deal provides access to Superhuman’s user base of 40 million people, facilitating product distribution at scale.
