Streamex Corp., a Nasdaq-listed technology firm focused on commodity tokenization, has secured an initial $1 million institutional investment. The capital was allocated to the Aureon Relative Value Fund, managed by Metalayer Capital, a firm established by former Two Sigma executives.
The investment strategy utilizes GLDY, a gold-backed token issued by Streamex, as a long position in a delta-neutral trade. This approach pairs the token with short positions in gold-linked perpetual futures, aiming to capture the 3.5% annual yield generated through Streamex’s gold-leasing program regardless of market price fluctuations.
Metalayer Capital also serves as a liquidity provider for GLDY on various trading platforms and maintains the ability to mint or redeem tokens directly with the issuer. Streamex does not manage or sponsor the fund and receives no compensation based on the capital raised by the fund.
The company has completed six consecutive monthly distributions for GLDY holders, with the most recent occurring in September. Streamex provides transparency regarding its gold reserves through a Chainlink proof-of-reserves feed, while the token remains available exclusively to eligible investors under registration exemptions.
