Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, reported a decrease in its combined USD reserves and cash by $140 million over a single week. As of mid-September 2026, the total liquid dollar holdings stood at approximately $6.4 billion, following a previous weekly decline of $176 million.
The company holds approximately 840,000 BTC and maintains a policy of not selling its Bitcoin assets. To cover annual obligations of $1.7 billion, which include preferred stock dividends and interest payments, the firm utilizes its dollar reserves.
The reserves consist of a restricted USD Reserve of about $5.1 billion and a flexible USD Cash pool that held approximately $1.59 billion in late August. The company estimates these funds provide a runway of roughly three and a half years for fixed obligations.
To replenish liquidity, Strategy conducts at-the-market equity offerings by selling MSTR common stock. In June 2026, the company adopted a formal USD Reserve Policy, which limits the use of core reserves to dividend and interest support unless approved by the board.
