The storage sector on the A-share market has experienced a significant correction, with several leading companies seeing their stock prices drop by more than 40% from their annual highs.
In the Huaqiangbei electronics market, 16GB DDR5 memory modules are currently priced between ¥1400 and ¥1600, while 32GB modules range from ¥2000 to over ¥3000. A 1TB solid-state drive costs between ¥800 and over ¥1000.
Vendors report a slight price decline compared to recent peaks, with 16GB and 32GB modules dropping by ¥20 to ¥50, and 1TB drives falling by ¥20 to ¥30. Despite these adjustments, prices remain at elevated levels.
Market demand has weakened, leading to a 20% to 30% decline in sales volume throughout October. Many channel distributors are facing financial pressure due to high inventory levels and are attempting to liquidate stock to recover capital.
The market is currently characterized by high asking prices, low transaction volumes, and instances of price inversion. While factory-gate prices continue to rise, distributors are struggling to balance high procurement costs with stagnant consumer demand.
