The latest Steam Survey reveals that 32GB of RAM has surpassed 16GB to become the most popular memory capacity for gaming PCs. Other configurations are also gaining traction, with 24GB systems reaching 2.56% and 48GB setups rising to 1.46% of the total user base.
This shift occurs despite recent industry trends where some manufacturers continue to release laptops with 8GB of RAM. Microsoft previously suggested 32GB as a future-proof standard for gaming, though the company later removed this recommendation after launching 8GB base models for its Surface line.
In the processor market, AMD continues to increase its share against Intel. According to the data, AMD holds 48.37% of the market across all platforms, while Intel remains at 51.63%. This represents a significant shift from May 2026, when AMD held slightly less than 45%.
