Russian state-owned companies significantly increased their procurement of landline telephones in 2026. According to data from the RTS-Tender platform, state-owned entities spent approximately 118 ₽ million on these devices between January and August 2026, marking a more than threefold increase compared to the same period in 2025.

The number of tenders for stationary phones also rose by 12.5% year-on-year, totaling 3,595 contracts during the first eight months of 2026, as reported by the Kontur.Zakupki service. The vast majority of these expenditures, specifically 116 ₽ million, were conducted under Federal Law No. 223-FZ, which governs companies with state participation.

Experts attribute the rising demand for wired communication to the need for more secure and reliable channels, particularly within organizations related to critical information infrastructure. These systems allow for centralized management, call recording, and integration with dispatch systems, offering a stable alternative during periods of mobile network instability.

Data from the previous year indicates a broader trend in the sector. Between March 2025 and March 2026, state procurement of telephone sets grew by 53.5% in monetary terms, reaching a total of 3.3 ₽ billion. Despite this shift toward fixed-line hardware, analysts suggest this reflects a strategic move toward secure corporate communication rather than a complete abandonment of modern mobile technologies.
