Sean Parker, co-founder of Napster, is pivoting Stability AI toward the music industry. Two years ago, Parker participated in an $80 million rescue package for the startup following the departure of founder Emad Mostaque. Prem Akkaraju currently serves as the company's CEO.

In late August, Stability AI secured $76 million in funding. Key investors include Sony, Warner, and Universal. As part of this agreement, these music labels provided their catalogs to be used for training the company's artificial intelligence models.

The company has launched three new audio models and software designed for AI-driven music editing. These tools allow users to generate instrumental tracks or short audio clips based on text prompts. Future updates will enable users to guide generation by humming melodies or beatboxing.
