German tuning firm SSR Performance is developing Project Leo, a modified Porsche 911 GT3 RS designed to emulate the performance of a GT2 model. The vehicle was recently spotted undergoing testing at the Nürburgring circuit.

The build features a modified 4.0L flat-6 engine equipped with twin turbochargers. While the standard GT3 RS produces 518 horsepower, reports suggest the Project Leo variant could exceed 800 horsepower.

SSR Performance has implemented custom chassis and aerodynamic upgrades. Notable modifications include new front fender vents, a large front splitter, and redesigned rear quarter panels that replace windows with air intakes.

The rear bumper includes additional cooling slots, and the exhaust system has been reconfigured with tailpipes positioned further apart. The project aims to challenge existing lap records at the 20.8 km Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The current production lap record at the Nürburgring is held by the Mercedes-AMG One, which set a time of 6:29.090 in 2024. SSR Performance intends to test the vehicle's capabilities on the track.
