Sriram Krishnan, the former Senior White House Policy Advisor on Artificial Intelligence, is launching a new venture capital fund with a target of $500 million. The vehicle will focus on growth-stage AI startups that align with US national security interests, specifically those involved in defense, infrastructure protection, and competitive technologies.
This new initiative is significantly larger than Krishnan's current investment firm, Kearny Jackson, which raised $65 million for its third fund in 2024. While Kearny Jackson focuses on B2B SaaS, infrastructure, and fintech, the new fund is strictly dedicated to national security applications.
Krishnan served as a White House policy adviser from January 2025 to June 30, 2026, where he co-authored the American AI Action Plan. His policy work emphasized a light regulatory approach and maintaining US leadership in AI relative to China, including support for the $500 billion Stargate project.
In September 2026, Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic invited Krishnan to lead the Frontier AI Standards Agency, an industry self-regulatory group. His dual role as a potential industry leader and an investor in companies tied to government priorities has raised questions regarding potential conflicts of interest.
