Spotlight Automotive has initiated a recall for over 700 electric MINI vehicles produced in China. The action follows reports of potential manufacturing defects involving the interior rearview mirror mounting bracket.
The affected models include 39 MINI Aceman units produced between January 13 and April 23, 2026, 42 MINI JCW units manufactured from April 7 to April 10, 2026, and 633 MINI Cooper units built between April 7 and April 23, 2026.
The defect stems from poor adhesion between the mirror bracket and the windshield, which may cause the mirror to become loose or detach entirely. This issue poses a safety risk by obstructing the driver's view and potentially causing injury to passengers.
BMW China will handle the replacement of the windshield assembly for all recalled vehicles on behalf of Spotlight Automotive. This recall serves as an expansion and modification of a previous measure announced on July 24, 2026.
