The SpaceX Crew-12 mission concluded on Oct. 8, 2026, as the Crew Dragon Freedom spacecraft splashed down in the Pacific Ocean near Los Angeles. The crew spent 237 days aboard the International Space Station, covering over 100 million miles and completing 3,792 orbits.
The team included NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev. The mission launched on Feb. 13, 2026. For Meir and Fedyaev, this was their second spaceflight, while Hathaway and Adenot completed their first.
During the mission, the crew conducted research on stem cell production, IV fluid generation, and the impact of bacteria on heart health. Meir performed four spacewalks, totaling seven in her career, while Adenot completed three, becoming the first French woman to conduct a spacewalk.
A press conference is scheduled for Oct. 15, 2026, at the Johnson Space Center in Houston to discuss the mission results. Meir, Hathaway, and Fedyaev will participate in the event. Adenot will not attend as she is returning to Europe.
