Polish company SpaceForest successfully completed the fourth test flight of its Perun suborbital rocket on August 27, 2026. The launch took place at the military range in Ustka on the Baltic Sea coast, with the official announcement following on October 5.
The 11.5-meter rocket features the proprietary SF-1000 hybrid engine, which utilizes modified paraffin as solid fuel. This design allows for controlled combustion and trajectory stabilization through a thrust vector control system, which performed as planned during the latest test.
Perun is designed to carry up to 50 kg of scientific payload to altitudes of 150 km for microgravity experiments. While the company has not disclosed the specific altitude reached during this flight, it marks a transition from testing individual components to developing a full-scale system.
SpaceForest plans to conduct international test launches from the Azores in Portugal or from a floating platform in the North Sea. Due to infrastructure delays, these missions are now expected to begin in early 2027, with the Ustka range remaining a potential site for future tests.
