SoftBank Group is in preliminary talks to acquire Allied Universal, the largest security services firm in the United States. The potential transaction is valued at approximately $18 billion in equity, with a total deal value reaching nearly $30 billion when including debt.

Allied Universal currently employs around 770 000 people across more than 100 countries and generates roughly $23 billion in annual revenue. The company already utilizes AI tools for GPS tracking and real-time monitoring.

SoftBank intends to use the security firm as a testing ground for AI-powered labor, including patrol robots and automated monitoring. This strategy follows SoftBank's October 2025 announcement to acquire ABB’s robotics business for $5.375 billion.

Negotiations are in the early stages, and no definitive agreement or final price has been established. Following the report on October 16, 2026, SoftBank’s stock price declined by approximately 9 percent.
