Cybersecurity company Snyk has disclosed that it laid off more than 200 employees in June 2025. This figure represents approximately 20 percent of the firm's total global workforce at the time. The company stated that the reduction in force was intended to increase operational efficiencies and streamline expenses. The layoffs primarily impacted staff based in the United States and Israel.
Financial filings reveal that Snyk incurred costs of up to $13.8 million to implement these job cuts. By the end of 2025, the company employed approximately 990 people. Snyk has conducted several rounds of layoffs in recent years, following its establishment in 2015 by Guy Podjarny, Assaf Hefetz, and Danny Grander.
Despite the workforce reduction, Snyk reported that its annual revenue for 2025 reached $309 million, an 11 percent increase compared to the previous year. This growth was driven by new customer acquisitions. However, the company's losses also rose, climbing from $169 million to $189 million, which management attributed to increased investment activity.
Snyk, which is currently headquartered in Boston, has raised over $1 billion from investors, including Tiger Global. The company was valued at $8.5 billion in 2021 and $7.4 billion in 2022. In 2025, the firm expanded its operations by acquiring the AI security company Invariant Labs to bolster its existing portfolio of developer security products.
