Snap has unveiled Specs Intelligence, an AI assistant designed to integrate with various digital accounts to assist users with work tasks and travel planning. The service functions as an anticipatory tool, aiming to manage daily priorities and support long-term goals by analyzing data from connected applications.

The assistant is currently available in preview on iOS devices. Users can also join a waitlist for early access to the Mac version. Snap has not disclosed specific technical differences between the preview and the full release. The tool is launching alongside the company's new augmented reality glasses, known as Specs.

Specs Intelligence connects to services such as Gmail and Slack to gather context about user goals, routines, and relationships. When used with the AR glasses, the system can display relevant information directly in the user's field of view. The assistant can also proactively surface data, such as meeting details or travel itineraries.

The platform operates using a mix of proprietary open-source models hosted in the United States and local large language models. Snap stated that it updates this model combination regularly to improve performance. The company emphasized that it does not access personal content or use data from connected accounts for model training or advertising.
