In 2026, residents of North Ossetia showed a growing preference for mid-range smartphones. According to MegaFon, the share of smartphone users in the region reached 68%, marking an 11% increase over the past year. Consumers in the region currently utilize devices from over 200 different brands for mobile communication and internet access.
Samsung currently holds the top position in the regional brand ranking, followed by Xiaomi and Huawei. The most frequently used smartphone models among local subscribers include the Xiaomi Redmi 9A, realme Note 50, and Apple iPhone 14. In the feature phone segment, Russian and Chinese brands such as BQ, Fontel, and Philips remain the most popular choices.
MegaFon is actively expanding its retail presence to improve accessibility for regional customers. The company recently opened new stores in Vladikavkaz, as well as in the villages of Mikhailovskoye and Oktyabrskoye within the Prigorodny District. These locations include both high-traffic urban centers and neighborhood-based retail formats.
