The Skolkovo Foundation has expanded its 'AI Lesson' program, providing Russian schools with free access to artificial intelligence training materials for grades 1 through 9. The curriculum, which includes lesson plans, worksheets, and methodological guides, is designed to be integrated into standard classes, extracurricular activities, and supplementary education.
The program follows a progressive learning path. Primary school students explore AI through voice assistants and object recognition, while middle school students move on to machine learning, data processing, and generative models. The platform features an integrated 'Kodostudiya' block-based programming environment, allowing students to build algorithms and train models directly in a browser.
Developed in collaboration with Avito and Alisa AI, the project incorporates expertise from a Chinese university partner. The initiative supports the national 'Data Economy' project. To date, over 4,800 students from 47 Russian regions have participated in pilot lessons for grades 1–4, which launched in May 2026.
Skolkovo plans to expand the curriculum to include grades 10–11 by the end of the 2026/27 academic year, with new materials released monthly. Additionally, JSC Prosveshcheniye (VEB.RF) will join the project to assist with methodological development and teacher training, aiming to scale the program across the country.
