SignSplit, a startup focused on signed data for artificial intelligence, has officially launched with $400 million in funding. The investment was provided by W Group, a consortium of 11 fintech firms specializing in blockchain technology.

The company, established in 2024 and led by CEO Alessandro Monterosso, has reached a valuation of $1 billion. The capital will be used to accelerate the global deployment of its infrastructure for the AI data economy.

SignSplit provides a platform where users can digitally sign their personal data, including datasets, voices, and likenesses. This system establishes provenance and clear consent, allowing contributors to receive compensation when AI developers use their work.

The platform enables users to contribute data individually or through aggregated data pools. Businesses and research institutions can also create custom pools to source specific human data for AI training while ensuring compliance with usage rights and verification standards.
