The SharpEmu emulator, version v0.0.4-release.2, has achieved a milestone by running six titles at 60 FPS. The update, released on September 25, features improved SPIR-V shader translation and updated Vulkan API support.
The list of playable games includes Dreaming Sarah, Void Terrarium, New Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja, Tetris Forever, Hoa, and Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered. Currently, only 12 out of 55 tested games reach a game-ready state.
SharpEmu is written in C# and supports Windows, Linux, and macOS. It utilizes Vulkan and MoltenVK for graphics calls. Because the PS5 uses AMD Zen 2 architecture, the emulator executes CPU instructions natively on standard PCs.
Developers emphasize that the project is experimental and intended for research. It does not include copyrighted firmware or game assets. Separately, the KytyPS5 emulator ran the PS5 version of GTA V at 40–60 FPS on a system with a Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Radeon RX 7900 XT.
