Sharjah has announced a cybersecurity modernization plan for its government agencies scheduled for 2026–2031. The strategy focuses on integrating Zero Trust architecture, SIEM systems, EDR solutions, and artificial intelligence into a unified framework. This approach aims to replace periodic audits with continuous monitoring and coordinated incident response.
The Sharjah Cyber Security Center (SCSC) is overseeing the project. To date, the center has conducted over 20 technical workshops for government employees, establishing protocols for risk assessment and incident management. The next phases of the strategy involve upgrading legacy IT systems and establishing centralized monitoring hubs to ensure data compatibility.
According to Softline, the primary challenge lies in system integration rather than technology procurement. Effective protection requires standardized data formats and consistent access rules across all platforms. The project highlights that a robust security architecture depends on the ability to connect disparate tools into a single, functional ecosystem.
