Sfera is an open-source programming language where all keywords, built-in functions, and types are written in Cyrillic. The compiler is built using Rust and generates native machine code via LLVM 18, rather than acting as an interpreter or transpiler.
The language features a static type system with eight integer types, ranging from 8 to 64 bits, and three floating-point types. It enforces strict type safety, requiring explicit casting for operations involving different bit widths. Variables are declared with explicit types or inferred by the compiler.
Sfera supports structures with automatic constructor generation and ARC-based memory management. It includes a contract system similar to interfaces for polymorphism and uses a 'result' wrapper instead of exceptions for error handling. The language also provides built-in support for lists, dictionaries, and string interpolation.
Concurrency is handled through OS-level threads via the 'parallel' keyword, with channels for data transfer. A deterministic scheduler modifier is available for scenarios requiring reproducible execution order, such as industrial control systems.
