Severstal has implemented an in-house expert system for blast furnace processes (ESDP) at its Cherepovets Steel Mill. The solution covers the entire coke-sinter-blast furnace production chain, including all blast furnaces, sinter plants, and coke chemical facilities.
Since 2025, the system has generated an economic benefit exceeding 170 ₽ million. Operational improvements include a reduction in coke consumption by 1.02 kg per ton of pig iron, while greenhouse gas emissions have decreased by 39,900 tons of CO2.
The platform monitors fuel consumption, calculates optimal technological parameters for smelting, and manages the logistics of molten iron and slag. It integrates with existing automated process control systems and the company's proprietary MES.
An AI agent generates hourly analytical reports and provides operational recommendations to staff. Employees access data via web interfaces, mobile applications, and an integrated chatbot that answers queries based on real-time production data.
