SemiAnalysis, a research firm specializing in semiconductors and AI infrastructure, has announced the acquisition of Citrini Research. The latter is an investment research company known for its thematic analysis. Following the completion of the deal, James van Geelen will continue to lead Citrini Research as its CEO.

Founded by Dylan Patel in 2020, SemiAnalysis has established itself as a prominent source of information regarding GPU supply chains, data center economics, and custom silicon roadmaps. The company currently employs between 50 and 90 people, serving a client base that includes institutional investors and chip industry executives.

The financial details of the acquisition remain undisclosed. The decision to retain James van Geelen in his current leadership role indicates that Citrini Research will likely preserve a degree of operational independence rather than undergoing a full integration into the parent brand.
