SberDevices, a developer of smart home devices under the Sber brand, has filed a lawsuit against the retailer M.Video in the Moscow Arbitration Court. The claim, registered on September 22, 2026, seeks 6.64 ₽ billion. Both companies have declined to disclose the specific grounds for the legal action.
The financial situation for both parties remains challenging. In 2025, M.Video reported a net loss of 63.8 ₽ billion, with revenue declining by 28% to 322.3 ₽ billion. By the end of June 2026, the retailer's total financial obligations reached 159.2 ₽ billion, prompting the opening of a credit line worth 17.5 ₽ billion.
M.Video is currently undergoing a business transformation into a marketplace under the leadership of Vladislav Bakalchuk. The company has recently faced reports of payment delays to marketplace sellers and third-party service providers. Commercial Director Sergey Uvarov acknowledged a shortage of working capital, citing plans to normalize operations within one to two months.
This is not the only legal challenge for the retailer. In June 2026, Revo Charge Rus, a subsidiary of MegaFon, filed a separate lawsuit against M.Video for 1.8 ₽ billion, reportedly related to outstanding payments for goods. A hearing for this case is scheduled for October 14, 2026.
