Sber has released a novel titled Dead Souls. Volume Two. Revival, which serves as a sequel to Nikolai Gogol's classic work. The text was generated using the GigaChat large language model. The book is currently available for purchase in online stores and will soon be distributed through major marketplaces and retail bookstores.

The project development spanned over a year and involved a multidisciplinary team of historians, literary scholars, linguists, and engineers. To train the model, the team utilized Gogol's collected works, personal correspondence, drafts, and notebooks, alongside contemporary literature, philosophical texts, and biblical references.

To ensure quality, the creators implemented an evaluation system based on 11 specific parameters, including syntax, vocabulary, dialogue style, and the role of the narrator. Experts reviewed the generated fragments to prevent direct plagiarism and to ensure the development of original plot points and thematic content.

The final publication features 21 illustrations generated by GigaChat. These images were created in the artistic style of Alexander Agin, who was responsible for the original illustrations of the first volume of Dead Souls.
