German software corporation SAP has announced the acquisition of the Belgian startup TechWolf. The transaction represents the largest purchase of a venture-backed software firm in the history of Belgium. While the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, the startup has previously secured over $50 million in total funding from investors including Felix Capital, Notion Capital, and 20VC.

Founded in 2018 and based in Ghent, TechWolf employs more than 120 people and maintains offices in London and New York, with plans to open a location in San Francisco. The company specializes in using artificial intelligence to analyze employee skills and workplace dynamics. Its proprietary context graph technology will be integrated into SAP's talent management and workforce planning strategies.

SAP intends to utilize TechWolf's technology to enhance its AI-driven HR tools, including the Joule assistant. According to Manoj Swaminathan, president and chief product officer for SAP Autonomous Suite, the integration will improve the efficiency of token usage and reduce deployment costs for workforce agents. The acquisition is scheduled to be finalized in the fourth quarter of this year.
