Samsung has officially launched the global rollout of One UI 9.0, built on Android 17. The update is currently available for the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra in South Korea and the United States, following its initial debut on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8, and Z Flip8.
The update introduces several Galaxy AI enhancements, including My FanCam for automated video framing and Now Brief, which now features customizable, AI-generated cards for daily summaries. Additionally, the Now Nudge tool analyzes user context to suggest relevant actions, such as opening booking details during a conversation.
Creative Studio now offers AI-driven image generation ideas based on upcoming events. The Interpreter app has been updated with a Thread View for conversation history and reduced latency when used with Galaxy Buds. Document scanning capabilities have also been improved to correct perspective distortions and remove unwanted objects like fingers.
The Voice Recorder now provides structured AI summaries with tables and headings. Security features have been bolstered with Security Brief for threat alerts and Privacy Alerts for monitoring background app permissions. Furthermore, the Scam Detection feature is expanding to new regions with additional language support.
A new Warranty and Care section has been added to the settings menu. This tool allows users to check device warranty status, perform self-diagnostics, estimate repair costs, manage Samsung Care+ subscriptions, and schedule service appointments. The rollout is phased and depends on the user's region and carrier.
