Samsung has integrated support for the USDC stablecoin on the Solana blockchain within its digital wallet. This update is now available for approximately 82 million compatible Samsung Galaxy devices across the United States, with the exception of New York residents.
The infrastructure for this integration is provided by Bastion, which handles custody, while Coinbase serves as a sub-custodian. The move aims to facilitate dollar-based transactions using the Solana network directly through the consumer payments platform.
Market analysts suggest that the inclusion of USDC could boost user engagement and transaction volumes within the Solana ecosystem. Despite the update, current market data indicates only a 15% probability that Solana's price will drop to $70 during November.
